Private Lessons Policies

Lessons are contracted verbally for automatically renewing months.  If you would choose to discontinue the lessons, please let David know at least three weeks (four weeks for in-home lessons) ahead of the last scheduled lesson, so he can adjust his schedule accordingly.

Lessons are given weekly in order to best develop the students’ skills, and are given year-round. The DM Calendar outlines the weeks of the year during which lessons are given.  Please notify David at least two weeks ahead of time if you will be unavailable for a lesson due to a vacation.

Tuition is collected monthly on or before the first lesson day of the month.

David will make a good faith effort to provide makeup lessons for those cancelled (with at least 24 hours advance notice via direct conversation, voicemail or email) by students who take regular, weekly lessons at his private studio in S.W. Raleigh.  There are no refunds for lessons that are missed or cancelled by students (for weather-related misses, make up lessons are offered).

Student- cancelled or missed in-home lessons: There are most generally no make-up lessons offered at students’ homes* because in an effort to provide the convenience of out-bound lessons, David has planned travel routes with tight schedules.  However, provided that David receives at least 24 hours advanced notice of cancellation (via email, voice mail or direct conversation), he will make a good-faith effort to provide a make-up lesson at his private studio in Raleigh, on-line, or possibly in your home.  *In-home makeup lessons are possible only if there is time on his schedule, on your usual weekly lesson day, in your neighborhood.

If David should have to cancel a lesson, he will make a good-faith effort to provide a make-up lesson at his home, your home (for regular in-home lessons), or online. If make up options are not workable a tuition credit will be offered.

By taking lessons with David, it is understood and implied that the student/parent/guardian agrees to the terms of these policies.
