Whether you are a beginner or advanced bassist, wanting to learn classical, folk or rock styles, bass lessons with Dave can help you bring your skills to a whole new level.

Dave structures and tailors bass lessons to fit the goals and needs of his students.  Students are assigned a bass methodology (curriculum) including lesson, song and theory books, plus scales and arpeggios which suit them best.  He also encourages and helps students to pick supplemental selections from pop, folk, rock, or movie theme titles, or any styles that interest them.  He is happy to arrange music of their liking for the bass.  Students enjoy learning to play songs that they choose.

Lessons are primarily given face-to-face, the traditional way.  However, if a parent occasionally finds getting to a lesson at Dave’s home studio problematic, Dave will offer Skype lessons at the student’s usual lesson day/ time as an alternative.   Skype lessons can also work well in the event of inclement weather.  Parents are very pleased to have this back-up “telecommuting” option.

Learning music should be naturally progressive and fun; the ideal zone is neither too easy nor too difficult.  Students learn best when they are intrinsically motivated, he believes, and so literature should be inspirational whenever possible.
